About Me

First of all – it’s not about me ‘being funny.’ Well, not in the ‘how very amusing’ sense of the word. In my part of the world being referred to as a ‘funny lass’ is more about being perceived to be a bit of an oddity, a bit unusual. Perhaps a bit annoying at times. But mostly (hopefully) this term tends to be lobbed at someone in a rather affectionate manner.

And the ‘exceptional’ bit? Well, I try and default towards believing in the good in people.  And I run with a crowd who believe that the word ‘exceptional’ is not about academic achievement or about your salary, your credentials or your wordly achievements.

Have a dabble, have a nosey-poke around a random collection of the blogs and you’ll soon gather that my interests include politics, religion (or *not*), poverty, learning disabilities and humour.

Oh – and did I mention that I’m from the North of England? I’m sure that I did …

I have just finished reading Mind Games & Ministers and loved every word of it. Loaned it to another Cheshire girl — she is loving it too. Can’t wait for the next Rachel book to come out. Wish you lots of success! Hilde Noble

Thanks so much Hilde! Pleased you enjoyed the read and that you picked up on the ‘border confusion’ of my own background…being Lancashire-born, Cheshire & Derbyshire resident and having finally defected just a few miles to Yorkshire (never mind the African life) certainly lends itself to a sense of divided loyalty..!
Am working on the second in the series now – but I am a fusspot when it comes to getting it just right…
